The Dong people in Guizhou province hold a massive event known as the "Dadongnnian" (or "Lushenghui") during the Spring Festival. This type of activity is generally hosted by two villages. Representatives from the two villages will hold a reed song and dance competition in the square, and people will sing and dance along with the music.

Gelao ethnic group
The Gelao are a farming people who attach great importance to the annual Spring Festival. When the "Winter Solstice" passes, they begin preparing for the Lunar New Year's Eve sacrifice. They sacrifice pigs to honor their ancestors and the God of Wealth, and invite nearby relatives and friends to eat with them.
