Ethnic groups in Guizhou province have always enjoyed a rich and varied selection of Spring Festival activities.
Miao ethnic group
The Miao people refer to the Spring Festival as the "Hakka Year". Every household slaughters pigs and sheep in hopes of good weather for crops and obtaining a bountiful grain harvest.

Sui ethnic group
Spring Festival is celebrated by the Sui people through the sound of bronze drums. On the morning of the festival, several young men are ordered by elders to bang the bronze drum in celebration of the holiday.
